CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS: It seems like this classic special, co-starring Peppermint Patty and Marci, has been on every week for months. (1 hr.) ABC at 8 p.m.

THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS: Jodie Foster plays an FBI agent trying to stop a gay serial killer. The film won five Oscars, but gay activists protested its familiar “gay menace” theme. (2 hrs.) Bravo at 8 p.m.

THE WIZARD OF OZ: A gay cult classic, that gave us the term “friends of Dorothy,” tells the fanciful story of a group of outcasts lead by a naïve, but determined girl (gay icon Judy Garland). (2 hrs. 15 min.) TNT at 8 p.m.

ANGELS IN AMERICA: MILLENNIUM APPROACHES: The first half of the two-part film adaptation of gay playwright Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play about the dawn of AIDS in the ‘80s. (2 hr. 50 min.) HBO2 at 9 p.m.


SUNDAY | DECEMBER 14
ANGELS IN AMERICA: PERESTROIKA: The second half of the two-part film adaptation of gay playwright Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play about the dawn of AIDS in the ‘80s. (3 hrs. 5 min.) HBO at 8 p.m.

CHRISTMAS IN WASHINGTON: Few in D.C. got invitations for this concert at the National Building Museum, which features Joss Stone and Renee Fleming, but we can watch it on TV. (1 hr.) TNT at 8 p.m.

SURVIVOR: Though there was nary a gay soul on the island this season, we can all cheer for sexy, shirtless Burton to take home the final prize. (3 hrs.) CBS at 8 p.m.

QUEER AS FOLK: Michael tries to be a good father to Melanie’s baby. (1 hr.) Showtime at 10 p.m.

UNDER THE PINK CARPET: A look inside the 2003 Out Music Awards and HX Awards in New York City. (30 min.) WHUT at 10:30 p.m.


MONDAY | DECEMBER 15
INTIMATE PORTRAIT: A look at the life and career of Rue McClanahan, who played Blanche on the gay favorite “The Golden Girls.” (1 hr.) Lifetime at 7 p.m.

GOLDEN GIRLS: THEIR GREATEST MOMENTS: The cast of the show, which was always a favorite among gays for its snappy dialogue and occasional gay characters, reunites to remember the series. (1 hr. 30 min.) Lifetime at 8 p.m.

SEND ME NO FLOWERS: A hypochondriac husband (Rock Hudson) thinks he’s dying to farcical results and his wife’s (Doris Day) dismay. (2 hrs.) Turner Classic Movies at 8 p.m.

THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING: The wizard Gandalf the Grey (gay actor Ian McKellen) steals the show while leading a team of hobbits, elves, and dwarfs in the first installation of the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. (3 hrs.) Starz at 9 p.m.

TWO AND A HALF MEN: Judith, who left Alan to come out as a lesbian, has a makeover and a date with a man. Guess she’s a “has-bian.” (30 min.) CBS at 9:30 p.m.

MULHOLLAND DRIVE: A lesbian love story figures prominently into David Lynch’s surreal and convoluted parable about the dark side of Hollywood. (2 hrs. 30 min.) Encore at 10:10 p.m.
