Gay.com and PlanetOut.com’s members have chosen prime time’s new prime hunk in a recent online vote. Will it be someone who looks like every other gay hottie boy or will it be a man with an individual look?
Alas, the vote goes to trong>JENSEN ACKLES, the typically young and tight-bodied stud on the WB’s show “Supernatural.” He won 32 percent of the vote, according to Gay.com.
For six weeks, the two gay Web sites listed more than 60 television actors in an online slideshow voting process, and a total of 63,090 boob-tube queens tuned in to perform their democratic duty.
“Supernatural” follows the adventures of two brothers, Dean (Ackles) and Sam Winchester (fellow cutie JARED PADALECKI), who make their way across the U.S. battling creepy monsters and freaky beasties.
Much to Dish’s disappointment WENTWORTH MILLER from Fox’s “Prison Break” finished in second place. Who wouldn’t take a tattooed bad boy type over the squeaky clean Abercrombie Ackles? Honestly, we wouldn’t mind either one, but in Dish’s heart, Miller is number one.
JOSH DUHAMEL from NBC’s “Las Vegas” and JESSE METCALFE from ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” almost tied for third at 16 and 17 percent, respectively.
Dish just can’t resist running a story about rugby-playing firemen wrapped up in a nice Italian package.

Italian rugby player |
Lee Andrew, originally from New Orleans and now living in Rome, has apparently shot an erotic calendar of Italian firemen rugby players — quite a niche.
In a letter to the Blade, Andrew writes, “It was my goal to produce a calendar here in Europe of a professional sports team and donate the majority of proceeds towards Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.”
The calendar is titled “Angeli del Rugby,” that’s “Angels of Rugby” in the language of passion, and Andrew’s subjects are firemen who have their own rugby team. In the calendar, they are lolling about half-to-mostly naked at the gym, in a sauna and other very butch places. Unfortunately one of those places is not Dish’s bed.
According to Andrew, the higher-ups of the Italian fire department prohibited the players from promoting the calendar because it was too naughty for the fire brigade image. This seems to be a trend, and one Dish isn’t fond of, since New York City’s firefighters were also kept from promoting their annual beefcake brigade.

Madonna |
Maverick TV (co-founded by trong>MADONNA and Guy Oseary) and Logo, the MTV Networks’ channel for the gay audience, sent out a press release saying they’ve joined forces to develop a gay prime time soap opera.
The creators of the show are Christian McLaughlin and Valerie Ahren who have previously written for Comedy Central’s “Drawn Together,” Fox’s “My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancé” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.” The pair were also the co-executive producers and creators of MTV’s gay-inclusive Emmy-nominated soap “Spyder Games” in 2002.
“This series is the first of its kind, a gay-themed soap opera for prime time television,” Eileen Opatut, senior vice president for Logo, says in a press release. Did girlfriend never hear of “Queer as Folk?”
The upcoming show, tentatively titled “San Rafael,” follows “the intertwined lives of a group of LGBT friends and foes living in the same apartment complex,” says the press release.
Sounds like “Melrose Place,” but let’s hope the gay guys in this one actually get to kiss.
