Although Higgins says he appreciates the individual nature of his sport, powerlifting, Skelley says the intense camaraderie with teammates compels her to row.
“Although it’s a team sport, it’s a sport that really pushes you,” she says. “It’s a very honest sport. You know when you’re not performing at the level you could or should to give the best to your team.”
