least two others have said they would vote against the bill on the House floor.

As of last week, some lobbyists familiar with the bill, including Christopher Anders of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Lesbian & Gay Rights Project, said there appeared to be enough votes to pass a gay-only ENDA, but that the vote would likely be close.

A spokesperson for Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) said last week that Kennedy was expected to introduce a Senate version of ENDA this week. A spokesperson for Kennedy’s office told the Blade this week that he will wait to see how the House proceeds before moving a bill forward in the Senate.

i can still remember when george wallace used the phrase " segregation now, segregation tomorrow and segregation forever" in his inaugural speech. i suppose i am not surprised that these new democratic candidates are catering to their constituents with their own form of bigotry. or that pelosi or frank would endorse it. they are after all just politicians. what is needed here is a spokesperson for human rights - a true leader who will say "NO!". you know, someone who has a dream for the sons and daughters still unborn. someone who really believes in equality and dignity for those who are GLBT. we have a few good candidates - evan wolfson, matt foreman, marla keisling, jody huckaby, and many, many more. we need them. you can tell from all the uproar that we have a long way to go.

How can Democrats claim inclusion and their affirmative action plan --yet ensure none of us has any legal rights as GLBT? I don't support the bill unless it includes ALL of us. Who stood for us at Stonewall? It wasn't the GQ gay male, but transgender folks, dykes, queers, and et al. Sen. Frank has always opposed the Trans inclusion covertly/overtly -we saw that in GA. Yet, like with the Clinton Administration -I foolishly thought we LGBT and vets would get 'rights'. Fooled Again? Shame on..who?
