Gay families hop to annual Easter Egg Roll

Friday, April 13, 2007

Jennifer Chrisler with her sons, Tim and Tom, at the Easter Egg Roll at the White House Monday. To the right is Leah Mcelrath with her daughter, Rosemary. Chrisler, executive director of Family Pride, a national non-profit working for equality for gay families, said her group had about 100 people and 32 families at the event. This is the second year they've attended. She and others camped out Friday night for tickets. "We had about an inch of snow, so it was pretty cold, but we made it," Chrisler said. No protesters attended the Egg Roll this year. Chrisler says she was pleased with the way it went. "It was great. It felt like we were just other families there enjoying the festivities," she said.
