The
D.C.
police
department’s
Gay
&
Lesbian
Liaison
Unit
was
recently
involved
in
the
following
cases.
The
GLLU
assists
in
a
wide
variety
of
cases
and
its
involvement
does
not
imply
any
person
or
business
is
gay,
lesbian,
bisexual
or
transgender.
•
A
man
reported
to
the
GLLU
on
Sept.
13
at
6:30
p.m.
that
he
was
being
harassed
by
another
man
living
in
a
home
near
the
intersection
of
Third
and
T
Streets
N.W.
The
first
man
told
police
that
he
shares
the
home
with
other
people
and
is
in
a
dispute
with
the
home’s
owner.
He
also
told
police
that
he
and
the
other
residents
were
arguing
among
themselves,
one
man
made
homophobic
remarks
directed
at
him,
and
he
now
feels
unsafe
living
in
the
same
home
as
the
man.
Officers
helped
the
man
with
safety
planning
and
documented
the
incident
as
a
“hate/bias
motivated
incident,”
but
made
no
criminal
charges.
•
Police
were
called
early
Sept.
23
to
a
home
along
the
700
block
of
Park
Road,
N.W.,
to
respond
to
reports
of
a
domestic
disturbance.
Officers
determined
the
caller
had
assaulted
his
boyfriend
and
arrested
him.
The
other
man
suffered
minor
injuries
and
refused
medical
treatment.
•
Police
arrested
Sept.
24
a
man
suspected
of
assaulting
another
man
Sept.
1
with
a
knife.
Alex
Osmar
Lopez-Morales,
21,
of
Washington,
was
charged
with
“assault
with
intent
to
kill”
and
arraigned
in
D.C.
Superior
Court
on
Sept.
25.
According
to
an
earlier
report,
the
alleged
victim
told
police
he
had
met
the
suspect
Sept.
1
at
Meridian
Hill
Park
and
invited
the
suspect
back
to
his
residence.
The
victim
also
told
police
that
at
some
point,
the
suspect
attacked
him
with
a
knife,
inflicting
serious
injuries,
then
fled.
The
U.S.
Attorney’s
Office
is
prosecuting
the
case.
•
Police
were
called
Sept.
24
at
10
p.m.
to
a
restaurant
along
the
1600
block
of
17th
Street,
N.W.
to
respond
to
reports
of
a
disorderly
customer.
Officers
determined
the
man
was
suffering
from
a
mental
illness
and
had
failed
to
pay
his
bar
tab.
The
man
was
taken
home
and
arrangements
were
made
for
his
family
to
pay
the
tab.
•
A
man
reported
to
the
GLLU
on
Sept.
29
at
1
p.m.
that
he
needed
assistance
resolving
a
landlord-tenant
dispute
at
his
property
in
Capitol
Hill.
The
man
told
police
that
his
tenant
was
violating
a
written
lease
by
allowing
a
man
to
stay
overnight
on
multiple
occasions.
Police
told
the
man
that
the
civil
matter
would
have
to
be
resolved
through
the
D.C.
Landlord-Tenant
Court.
•
A
juvenile
reported
to
the
GLLU
on
Sept.
29
at
10:15
p.m.
that
he
had
seen
a
person
he
suspected
had
robbed
him
three
weeks
earlier.
The
juvenile
told
police
that
he
saw
the
suspect
on
a
Metro
bus
and
exited
the
bus
upon
seeing
the
suspect.
Police
met
the
juvenile
along
the
4600
block
of
Hillside
Road
S.E.
and
attempted
to
locate
the
suspect,
but
were
unable
to
find
him.
Police
then
took
the
juvenile
to
his
destination.
•
A
man
reported
to
the
GLLU
on
Sept.
30
at
11
a.m.
that
he
needed
assistance
retrieving
his
belongings
from
a
former
friend’s
home
along
the
4400
block
of
C
Street
S.E.
Officers
accompanied
the
man
to
the
home,
but
he
was
told
that
the
belongings
were
not
in
his
possession.
Police
advised
the
man
to
pursue
civil
action
as
the
matter
was
not
criminal.
•
Police
are
working
with
the
U.S.
Attorney’s
Office
to
handle
a
man’s
continued
“harassing
and
threatening
behavior”
toward
a
person
living
in
the
Dupont
Circle
area.
Officers
have
arrested
the
man
“multiple
times”
and
he
“has
served
multiple
sentences
for
charges”
including
“stalking,
threats,
violations
of
a
Civil
Protection
Order
and
contempt
of
court.”
Police
have
been
familiar
with
the
man
since
2005,
when
they
first
investigated
reports
of
domestic
violence
between
him
and
his
former
partner.
