Obituary
Bill Gillespie, 62

JAMES WORSDALE
Friday, November 14, 2008

Bill Gillespie, who had lived in Wilton Manors, Fla., and Washington, died Oct. 20 of complications from liver failure, according to his partner. He was 62.

Gillespie renovated and restored homes in Baltimore, Washington, Lewes, Del., and Wilton Manors, Fla., and was employed by IBM for more than 20 years in Baltimore and Washington.

His crowning achievement was the restoration of the 120-year-old “Theodora Kane House” in Lewes Del., once owned by the 20th Century Washington artist.

Gillespie was well known among his friends for his culinary and entertaining skills who recall his spur-of-the-moment dinner parties and his warm disposition. He is survived by his partner of 30 years, Roger France.

Donations can be made in Gillespie’s name to Food & Friends of Washington.
