But now that she’s publicly out, Curtis says that her live show is “particularly compelling” to gay people because “the stories that I tell are more reflective of their lives.”

“While I still have a lot of straight people in the audience, I think that it’s more refreshing for gays and lesbians to hear me as compared to a mainstream performer, because I’m totally honest onstage about my life.”
