While Pride is ongoing during June, the Stonewall riots actually took place on the weekend of June 27. So, whether you’re heading up to New York this weekend or not, consider celebrating with friends or by heading out to the clubs and enjoying some of the latest hot remixes and club singles.

10. Danity Kane
‘Damaged,’ Friscia and Lamboy Club Mix

So maybe they aren’t the most profound group ever to record a song, but this remix is tight. The production gives the song a dirty, gritty feel in a darker mix, but the girls still shine on the vocals.

9. Alanis Morissette
‘Underneath,’ Lost Daze Mix

This mix puts some funk behind Morissette’s heartache with a faster beat and plenty of guitar manipulation that fuels a dance version of one hell of a great break-up song. There is nothing like grinding with a new boy on the dance floor to make you forget about the one that got away.

8. Ne-Yo
‘Closer,’ StoneBridge Club Remix

The R&B hitmaker goes for the dance crowd again with remixes of his latest track from his third album, “Year of the Gentleman.” StoneBridge reworks the track with a frenetic beat under the cool lyrics and packs in plenty of acoustic guitar — all of which makes for compelling dance music.

‘Surrender Me’ Massive Dub

No, you are not experiencing déjà vu. Moran and Rigg released almost the same remix with Danielle Bollinger on vocals last year. The Holiday version gives the song more life, which means even better dance-ability. Holiday’s vocals are prominent and soar over the excellent dub.

‘Stamp Your Feet,’ Ranny’s Big Room Mix

The Queen of Disco wants to make sure her domination of the dance floor continues — or at least, that we’re reminded she can command its attention. Ranny amps up the golden vocals and adds synths the size of a Pride float to create a club mix worthy of this sure-fire Pride anthem.

‘Take a Bow,’ Seamus Haji and Paul Emanuel Club Mix

All of the sass and spunk shine through as Rihanna once again teams up with Haji and Emanuel for another stellar dance mix. The vocals are tweaked to play up the drama and attitude, giving the upbeat tempo added gusto. Rihanna scores again.

‘Hot Stuff (Let’s Dance),’ Eddie’s Anthem Mix

The album version features an excellent use of a sample of David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’ that Bowie himself approved. But sexy DJ Eddie Baez cranks up the sample and lays down an aggressive beat. In a genre dominated by the divas, Craig David has carved out a nice place for himself on the dance floor.

‘Control Yourself’ Rafael M. Big Room Mix

Armed with one of the biggest, most distinctive voices in dance music, Hamilton adds another terrific single to her long list of hits. Rafael M. serves up a healthy dose of drama on this mix by laying the vocals over a high-octane beat. Get it and love it, because it’s headed to the top of the charts.

‘The One,’ Freemasons Remix

Where would Pride be without our mega-divas? Just in time for the biggest gay weekend of the year, a new remix of this single from ‘X’ surfaces. The Freemasons made the album version glimmer, but this one ramps up the energy to make the gem shine even more.

‘Same Ol’ Story,’ Rosabel Vocal Mix

Thanks to liberal use of the f-bomb and a slew of big name remixers, Lauper has already slung this track all the way up the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart. Ralphi Rosario and Abel crank up the drama and give us a perfect peak-hour remix. And as those who attended this year’s True Colors concert know, Lauper has never sounded better.
