WASHINGTON — National Stonewall Democrats, a partisan LGBT rights group, last week named a new executive director.

Michael Mitchell was announced as the group’s new leader. Mitchell previously served as executive director of Equality Utah, the marriage campaign manager for the American Civil Liberties Union’s LGBT Project, and the advocacy and planning specialist for the Equality Federation.

“His experience working to harness the power of grassroots activists across the country makes him a perfect fit for Stonewall,” the group said in a statement.
