The Mautner Project will be hosting its 19th annual gala tomorrow night. The event will benefit the Project’s local and national health programs for the gay community.
The night combines a Valentine’s dinner, live and silent auctions, red hot singles tables and a dance party featuring the DJ stylings of DJ JFX, Jame Foks. Queer band Betty will perform.
The event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, 2500 Calvert St., NW. Tickets are $200 and may be purchased through mautnerproject.org.

Crystal Couture, a two-week festival of fashion, begins today and runs until Feb. 28. The event will feature sample sales and runway and trunk shows from designers, local boutiques and area salons.
Each night will revolve around a theme with specific drinks, food tastes, fashions and music. The events are free and open to the public.
The event runs every weekday from 6 to 10 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays and President’s Day, events run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. as well as in the evenings.
The two-week festival kicks off tonight with an opening gala. Other events include: Red Hot Valentine’s Night on Saturday, Glam Garments Gone Green on Monday, Theater Thursday on Feb. 19, Metro Men Monday on Feb. 23, and Work Wear Wednesday on Feb. 25.
The drag brunch is Feb. 22. Entertainment will be provided by Freddie’s Follies from Freddy’s Beach Bar & Restaurant. Owner Freddie Lutz was the 2008 Capital Pride Hero Award winner. Fritatas will be provided by Gordon Vivace, gay owner of Cucina Vivace. Admission is free.
Crystal Couture is located at 2450 Crystal Drive in Crystal City.
Atmos Events and CAMP Rehoboth will host a beach house rush and reunion party at Pasha on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.
The event will precede Delirium Sundays at Pasha, which is a boutique, two-floor dance club. There will be dancing boys on the boxes, music by DJ Jason Horswill and drink specials.
The meet-and-greet provides an opportunity to find a beach house summer share or rental in Rehoboth for summer 2009. The party afterwards, Tease: the RED party, is a benefit for Cherry and runs until 2 a.m.

Craig Gidney is the latest author featured in the D.C. Center’s OutWrite author series. He will read from his latest book, “Sea, Swallow Me and Other Stories,” on Thursday.
“Sea, Swallow Me” is a collection of 10 short stories that explore both ancient folklore and modern myth, all written from the perspective of a gay, black male.
The book, his first, has been nominated for a Lambda Literary Award in the gay debut fiction category.
The event begins at 7 p.m. and is free to the public. The D.C. Center is located at 1111 14th St. N.W., Suite 350.
