‘MOMMIE DEAREST,’ a presentation of eight storytellers telling funny stories about their relationships with their mothers, will be presented tonight at 8 p.m. at Chief Ike’s Mambo Room in Adams Morgan (1725 Columbia Road, NW) and on Sunday (Mother’s Day) at 3 and 6 p.m. Storytellers include 10-year-old Meera Brown; Delia Perry, a Baltimore TV news reporter; Regie Cabico, a local poet; Jonathan Stroud; artist Ellouise Schoettler; Suzanne Hecker, comedian Vijai Nathan and poet Gayle Danley. THE BETHESDA FINE ARTS FESTIVAL, a two-day event highlighting 140 contemporary artists who sell their work, is today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Artists from around the country will offer art in a broad spectrum of mediums. The festival will feature live entertainment, a children’s activity area, participation from Bethesda restaurants and more. Admission is free. LESBIAN ROCKER LAURA TSAGGARIS is having an album release party tonight at the Rock and Roll Hotel in Washington for her new release “Keep Talking.” Tsaggaris, who grew up in Pittsburgh, recorded her first album, 2005’s “Proof,” while working at a law firm here in DC. Galvanized by strong reaction, she toured the country and essentially launched a music career. Tsaggaris blends pop, rock and Americana in her original songs.
