DEL SHORES, an award-winning playwright, film writer, and producer, discusses the true stories that inspired his hit play “Sordid Lives” in a one-man unscripted show tonight at 7 at Town (2009 8th Street, N.W.). “Sordid Lives,” originally a play about a quirky Texas family preparing for their mother’s funeral, was adapted into a television series in 2008 for Logo. The event, presented by Ganymede Arts, will also feature a performance from Jason Dottley, who plays Ty, an actor struggling with his homosexuality, on the series. The movie features legendary actresses Betty Grable, Lauren Bacall and Marilyn Monroe. The screening is part of the “Divas Outdoors, Classis Films Under the Stars” series.
