DEL SHORES, an award-winning playwright, film writer, and producer, discusses the true stories that inspired his hit play “Sordid Lives” in a one-man unscripted show tonight at 7 at Town (2009 8th Street, N.W.). “Sordid Lives,” originally a play about a quirky Texas family preparing for their mother’s funeral, was adapted into a television series in 2008 for Logo. The event, presented by Ganymede Arts, will also feature a performance from Jason Dottley, who plays Ty, an actor struggling with his homosexuality, on the series. ‘HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE,’ a 1953 movie about three New York models who must choose between love and money, plays tonight at 6:30 at the Hillwood Museum, Estate and Gardens (4155 Linnean Avenue, N.W.). The movie features legendary actresses Betty Grable, Lauren Bacall and Marilyn Monroe. The screening is part of the “Divas Outdoors, Classis Films Under the Stars” series. Ndegeocello, a bisexual singer/songwriter, has received numerous Grammy nominations, impressing critics with her neo-soul vibe. There will be two shows today at 8 and 11 p.m. and one show on Sunday at 8 p.m. The musical, directed by Joshua Morgan, stars Chris French as Hedwig, the transsexual rocker.
