GAY ARTIST ANDREW HUDSON's new exhibition “Andrew Hudson: Eight Drawings Made in Jules Olitski’s Studio, October 2007,” is on display at the Geoffrey Diner Gallery (1730 21st Street N.W.). In 2007, Hudson was invited by Olitski's widow to work in the artist's old studio, where he was surrounded by reproductions of Olitski's paintings. Hudson had curated Olitski's first exhibition of drawings at the Corcoran and was his friend for more than 40 years. This show will be on display until June 13. THE GAY MEN'S CHORUS OF WASHINGTON performs "Through a Glass Darkly," a theater piece about methamphetamine addiction, tonight at 8 at Lisner Auditorium (730 21st Street N.W.). The show, sponsored by D.C. Center's Crystal Meth Working Group, is composed by Michael Shaieb and fuses electronica with traditional choral singing to capture the sound of the club scene. LINDA GOLDMAN, author of "Coming out, Coming in: Nurturing the Well-Being and Inclusion of Gay Youth in Mainstream Society," comes to the GLBBC located at 241 West Chase Street in Baltimore today at 2 for a book discussion and signing. Goldman, a grief therapist and educator, wrote the book to teach parents, educators and counselors how to create safe and accommodating environments for LGBT youth. MR. AND MISS CAPITAL PRIDE will be crowned at the annual pageant tonight from 7 to 11 p.m. at Town (2009 8th Street, N.W.). Participants will compete in pride attire, talent and formal wear rounds and will be interviewed. Anybody who would like to compete must complete an application, pay a $25 registration fee and attend the contestant orientation meeting held at the Madison Hotel at 1177 15th Street, N.W. at 2 p.m. Admission for the event is $10. THE WHITMAN WALKER CLINIC presents the 2009 "Empowerment through Health: Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Wellness Conference," today from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Hotel Palomar (2121 P Street, N.W.). QUEERING SOUND 2009, presented by the Triangle Artists Group, invites a group of local and national LGBT musicians, performance artists and poets to the Pyramid Atlantic located at 8230 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, Md. for live performances starting tonight at 7. There will also be performances Sunday night at 7. The installment features an eclectic mix of performers expressing themselves through sound, digital arts and spoken word and will include groups such as the Dead Violets and poets Dan Vera and Eryca Kasse. THE BALTIMORE MEN'S CHORUS perform "The Big One: Songs with One-Word Titles" today at 3 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Rockville located at 100 Welsh Park Drive in Rockville, Md. The group is celebrating its 25th anniversary and the concert will benefit the Rainbow Youth Alliance, an LGBT youth support group for Montgomery County teens. All donations will by matched by the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations. Guests are also invited to attend the reception following the performance. CYNTHIA NIXON, an award-winning lesbian actress, will receive the Out For Equality Award at the eighth annual Night Out for Equality Gala tonight from 6 to 11:30 p.m. at the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel and Conference Center (5701 Marinelli Road, Bethesda, Md.). Nixon will be honored for her commitment to LGBT equality. The event is being put on by Equality Maryland, an LGBT civil rights organization. Many politicians are also being honored as allies for equality. Tickets cost $140 and quests should dress in cocktail attire.
