Down to the wire in Maine

Tomorrow, Maine voters will decide whether or not to keep marriage equality intact in the state. Things are almost dead even in the polls. Today, activists have gathered to rally at Monument Square to stand up for the rights of all Mainers. The No on 1 Campaign released a new ad on the 31st in which Jill goes from door to door asking for Diane's hand in marriage. The point? "Imagine if you had to ask 275,000 people to get married."

The Yes on 1 campaign increased its TV ad buy by at least $25,000 today, and ActBlue is in the final push to help our side refute their bogus claims.

Follow Project Maine Equality on Twitter for the latest updates from the ground. Jeremy from Good As You is also volunteering and posting mega blog updates.

It's a cute ad, but I don't know if it will be that effective.  I think it would be more effective to have a heterosexual couple going door to door asking for permission to get married with a majority of people either negative or saying they will consider it and decide later.

Close with a question.

Would straight folks think this is okay?
